Two new batches of recordings are now up on Bandcamp: Rare Earth Orbits features two recent recordings of works that explore the performative possibilities of rotational energies, magnetic fields and ‘handmade’ electricity; while Invisible Residue gathers together some infrared remote control recordings from 2015. Enjoy!
I’ve given the website of bit of a rejig, hopefully making things a bit nicer to look at and to deal with. Bare with me as things change.
Also, after a fair bit of deliberation I’ve finally decided to start a Bandcamp page. Despite my misgivings with some of its financial focus, BC allows for recordings to be easily clumped together in groups that resemble an album (unlike, say, SoundCloud). Like many folks who grew up with LPs and CDs, I still have some attachment to the album format (whatever the merits of that might be). However, I’ve more or less given up on the idea of physical releases, largely because they are unsustainable, plus any release would inevitably be available online so the duplication seems a bit pointless. Anyway, there’s not a lot up there yet, but I’ll see how it goes…
